ESCANABA---The Bay College Norse volleyball team beat the Montcalm College Centurions, 3-1, Wednesay night, to move over the 500 mark in conference play.
The scores were 25-22, 25-21, 22-25, and 25-18.
Bark River-Harris's Hope Varoni had 23 digs and 36 assists in the win.
Bay libero Jade Jasenovsky of Menominee led the way defensively with 29 digs. Stephenson's Mia Hauser, Marquette's Ava Maki, and Ishpeming's Addie Morton all had ten kills for the Norse. Hauser also added 14 digs to her ten-kill performance.
With the win, Bay improved to 10-8 overall, 4-3 in MCCAA play, as we reach the halfway point of the conference schedule. The Norse are in third place in the conference standings, behind leaders Grand Rapids (7-0) and Muskegon (5-1).
The Centurions fell to 5-14 overall, 1-6 in MCAA play.
Bay College heads to Petoskey for a match Monday night against North Central Michigan College, and then will be back home Wednesday to host Delta College.
