ESCANABA---The Bay College Norse men's basketball team got off to a hot start Wednesday night, racing to a 15-point lead against the Bryant & Stratton Bobcats. But the visitors from suburban Milwaukee took over from there, beating the Norse, 82-64, in Escanaba. It was the final non-conference game of the season for Bay, which enters conference play with an 11-3 record.

The Norse came out firing from behind the thgree-point line, with William Kelley making three of them, Emerson Droubie knocking down two, and Trevor Nolan swishing hjis usual 30-footer. Adam Page also buried a triple, Savion Johnson threw down an powerful two-handed slam, and Ziad Abouali scored three times in the paint.
All of that added up to a 32-17 lead for the Norse, who just cracked the national ranklings at No. 23 the day before.
The Bobcats had four players score in double figures. Jalen Murphy led all scorers with 22 points for the Bobcats (12-5 overall), scoring both inside and from behind the three-point line. Demagjh Salisbery scored 19 points, and Vontez Dent added 18 points. Asher Haas, who recently knocked down ten triples in a game, scored 14 points.The Bobcats made 12 triples (12 of 21), and were 12 of 13 from the free throw line.
Bay College got 14 points each from Abouali and Kelley. Taveon Vann contributed twelve points. But the Norse scored 32 points in the first 12 minutes of the game, and only 32 more in the final 28 minutes. Bay shot only five free thows the entire game, making four of them.
The Norse (11-3 overall) open MCCAA conference play Saturday afternoon against the Montcalm Community College Centurions. Game time is 3:00 at the Bay College Gym. The game will be broadcast live on Maverick 106.3 FM, and on-line by clicking the audio link on the www.baynorse.com website.
