GLADSTONE---The Gwinn High School girls basketball team was determined to stop Gladstone's All-time leading scorer, Lillie Johnson, at all costs, as the two teams met Thursday night in Gladstone.
The Model Towners achieved their goal, holding the Wisconsin-Green Bay recruit to just ten points. But the rest of the team torched the Model Towners from behind the long arch. The Braves nailed 19 three-point baskets and rolled to a 57-36 win.
Eva Pankonien led the way with nine three's and a career-high 27 points for the Braves.
Gladstone improves to 15-3 on the season, and will play in Kingsford next Monday night. The Model Towners (7-10 overall) will host Iron Mountain next Tuesday night.
