Bark River-Harris Dominates In Win Over Model Towners, 54-6

BARK RIVER---The Bark River-Harris High School football team shook off an early touchdown Thursday night and rolled to a 54-6 win over the Gwinn Model Towners on Parent's Night in Harris.

Peyton Bell hooked up with Gage Jones on a 66-yard touchdown pass just one minute into the game, but the Broncos dominated from there. Bark River-Harris, the defending state semifinalist in Division Eight, rolled up 367 yards of offense in the first half, and the second half was played on a mercy rule running clock with the Broncos leading at the break, 48-6.

Senior running back Andy Johnson had just ten carries in the first half, but he rushed for 182 yards and scored on touchdown runs of 11, 14, and 59 yards. Ben Knauf, Gionni McDonough, and Gabe Spear also scored touchdowns, and McDonough also intercepted two passes on defense.

Bark River-Harris improved to 2-0 on the season after a pair of home wins, and will be on the road next Friday night in Iron Mountain. That game from Mountaineer Stadium will be broadcast live on Eagle 107.3 FM. Gwinn (0-2) will be at home next Friday night against West Iron County.
