ANOTHER TROPHY: Gladstone Wrestlers On Top
 MARQUETTE---The Gladstone High School wrestling team continued to dominate the rest of the Upper Peninsula on Saturday night, winning the championship of the U.P. Finals in Marquette. Seven Braves wrestlers reached the finals in their weight classes, with five of them winning gold. The championship goes along with a perfect dual meet record this season, along with the two other tournament victories...so far. Gladstone's Vadym Torvinen beat Munising's Zach McGowan in the 119-pound final on a 7-4 decision. At 130 pounds, Braves freshman Cole Hansen pinned senior Owen Weber of Menominee in 3:53. Moments later, Gladstone sophomore Adam Bruce pinned Westwood's Wyatt Makosky in the 135-pound final, in 1:38. And then at 152 pounds, Gladstone junior Alex Chouinard won his first-place match against Kingsford's Jonathon Schmutzler on an 8-3 decision. The Braves' final U.P. champion was 171-pound senior Austin Demeuse, who pinned Newberry's Adam Fildebrant in three minutes, 12 seconds. Gladstone's Jared Demeuse (215) and Brody Sanville (140) finished as runners-up. ESCANABA FRESHMAN WINS TITLE---The Escanaba Eskymos had one Upper Peninsula champion Saturday night, as freshman Hunter Larson won the title at 125 pounds. And he beat an experienced wrestler in the final round to claim the bracket, topping Iron Mountain senior Dylan Hoffart on a 5-2 decision. Escanaba junior Ean Bevins (145 pounds) and sophomore Simon Chouinard (112) both finished third.
