Three Escanaba High School graduates have signed National Letters of Intent to play softball at Bay College. Emily Bruntjens, Emily LaFave, and Aubree Saunders all signed to play next year on the first-ever Norse softball team. They join current Escanaba senior Maddy Griffin as players for Norse Coach Heidi Charon, who is an Escanaba grad.

Zach Hanson tossed a no-hitter on Tuesday to lead the Gladstone Braves to an 8-0 win over the Rudyard Bulldogs in the second game of a doubleheader in the Eastern U.P. Cody Frappier ripped his first Braves home run in the win. Earlier, Jared Crow was in control as the Braves won the opener, 8-1. Grant LaMarche hit a bases-loaded single in the bottom of the ninth inning to lead the Escanaba Eskymos to a 3-2 win over the Bark River-Harris Broncos Monday at Al Ness Field. The Eskymos had carried a 2-0 lead into the late innings as Escanaba's Noah Lancour and BR-H's Ryan Arndt both pitched well. Kadin Mustafa was able to work out of a bases-loaded jam in the eighth inning, but the Eskymos got the winner in the ninth. It was LaMarche's second walk-off hit of the season, and the Eskymos avenged an earlier 5-0 loss to the Broncos.
