NEGAUNEE---It was a good day on the links for the Gladstone High School golf teams as the girls won the Negaunee Invitational championship, and the Braves boys finished in second place.
In the girls meet, Gladstone won with 391 strokes as Paige Tardiff shot an 89 and Callie Jensen carded a 91. Marquette finished second with 412 strokes, and Westwood was third with 414. The Escababa Eskymos were fifth amongst the eight girls teams with 455 strokes, as Jalyn Dagenais led the way with a 95.
In the boys meet, Westwood won it with 325 strokes, and Gladstone was second with 328. The Braves were led by Dave Dykowski, who carded a 78 and was second overall behind medalist Tanner Truscott (75). Escanaba finished in fifth place amongst eight teams with a team score of 344. Phil LaMarch led the Eskymos with an 83.
