ESCANABA---The Escanaba High School football schedule is set for this fall, and it includes a match-up with a state powerhouse. The Detroit Country Day Yellow Jackets will make the long trip on Saturday, Sept. 28, for a 2:00 game.
Country Day made it to the MHSAA Division Four state championship game last November, losing to Grand Rapids South Christian, 40-7.
Escanaba Athletic Director Dave Wilson says that this is a two-year contract, with the Eskymos heading to Detroit in 2014.
"They're good," Wilson said. "We want to be good, too. So, we have to play the good teams. I think we'll get a nice crowd that day with them coming to town."
