LeMire Wins Marquette Junior Hockey's Top Award

MARQUETTE---An Escanaba boy has won Marquette Junior Hockey's top award.

At Wednesday night's Marquette Junior Hockey Corporation banquet, Chris LeMire was given the Peter Bartanen Memorial Award. That trophy is given annually "for exemplifying the standards of outstanding dedication and leadership".

LeMire played for the Marquette American Legion Bantam AA team this winter. He will be a freshman at Escanaba High School in September.

LeMire's older brother John is an Escanaba graduate and plays junior varsity hockey at Finlandia University in Hancock, and his "middle" brother Nicky is the goaltender for the Escanaba High School hockey team.

AARON WINSLOW MEMORIAL AWARD:
PeeWee Goalie Award. Recipient will be a house league goalie in the PeeWee division, exhibits a “Play at any cost” attitude, has a strong work ethic, is a team player, and does it for “FUN, FUN, FUN” of playing hockey....Kyle Michalson – Superiorland Kiwanis Pee Wee B
