Eskymo Girls Sweep Softball Twinbill From Flivvers

ESCANABA---The Escanaba High School girls softball team swept a doubleheader from the Kingsford Flivvers, 11-7 and 17-2, Tuesday night at Lemmerand Park.

Michelle LaFave drove in three runs in the opener and hit a home run in the nightcap.

Jayme Frappier pitched all seven innings to get the win in the opener. Sam Connor threw the four innings in the nightcap to get the win as the game ended on the mercy rule.

Connor also had a two-run double in the fifth inning of the first game.

Kingsford's Maria Wiltzius had a three-run double in the seventh inning of the first game, but that hit only cut the Flivver deficit from 11-2 to 11-5.

After the sweep, Escanaba improved to 8-7. Kingsford's record is now 8-5.
