KINGSFORD--The Escanaba High School Baseball team scored early and often Tuesday and pounded the Kingsford Blues American Legion team, 15-0, at Kingsford's Spigarelli Field.
Devin Olsen had two hits and three runs batted in, and Sean Bissell also drove in three runs for the Eskymos. Ben Kleiman had two hits and two runs batted in, and Corey McInerney had two hits and an RBI for the Eskymos.
The Eskymos used three pitchers on the mound.
Brandon Punzel pitched the first two innings, and did not allow a run or a hit. Corey McInerney threw the next two innings, and also did not allow a run or a hit. Justin Popelka tossed the fifth inning and gave up a hit.
The game ended on the mercy rule after the fifth inning.
Escanaba returns to action on Friday with a doubleheader against the Alpena Wildcats. Game time is 5:00. Both games will be broadcast live on WCHT-AM (600), and on-line at www.rrnsports.com.
