Flivvers, Eskymos Lead GNC All-Conference Teams

KINGSFORD---The Kingsford High School football team won the Great Northern Conference championship with a perfect record this season, so it's no surprise that the Flivvers were well represented on the GNC All-Conference Team.

And the Escanaba Eskymos, who finished just one touchdown shy of the title, also had a huge showing on the GNC team.

Kingsford quarterback Sawyer Perpich was named Offensive Player of the Year by the league's coaches, and Flivver teammate Joe Rietsveld was named the GNC Lineman of the Year. Menominee's Ethan Mileski was named the Defensive Player of the Year, and longtime Kingsford Coach Chris Hofer was the Coach of the Year.

For the Eskymos, senior running back Logan Carroll made the first team, and fellow senior Johnny Schlenvogt was named to the First Team Offensive Live.

On defense, Cody Vandermissen was picked as one of the top linebackers, while Hayden Haslow and Scout Wunder were named as defensive backs.

Josh Grassell was honored on special teams.
