POWERS---The Bark River-Harris Broncos wrestling team hosted a quad meet Monday night inside the “other” half of the program's co-op: North Central High School.
The match was moved from the original site, Menominee, which has not had any classes or sporting events in its school all year long due to mold damage.

The spectators wore orange to honor the Escanaba Eskymos in the wake of that school's tragic loss of two parents who died in a traffic crash last Friday while traveling to their son's basketball game. They also raised $216 to help the three kids of Tara and Jerry Weaver, the couple that died in that traffic crash.
The Maroons brought just three wrestlers to Powers, and all three of them were pinned, as Bark River-Harris picked up a 60-0 win.
Josalynn Hudson won her 120-pound match by pinning Menominee's Hailee Malinski on a pin at the 3:10 mark. Haze Norlander picked up a win at the 165-pound bracket, pinning Tucker Bavlet at the 2:39 mark.
And at the 215-pound bracket. And at the 215 pound weight class, Charles Walker, pinned Cameron Gauthier in 1:52.
The other match was closer, although Munising and Ishpeming were also shorthanded.
Ishpeming was already behind, 18-0, on the scoreboard when Kyle Hyatt got his team on the scoreboard by pinning Munising's Wyatt Kulik in the 144-pound weight class, with that pin coming at the 3:53 mark.

After Munising's Reagan Bowerman got a forfeit win at 150, and both teams having a void at 157, there was a match at the 165-pound weight class. Ishpeming's Logan Hurkmans getting the pin over Munising's Chris Kulick at the 2:22 mark. That made the team score 24-12 in favor of the Mustangs.
Next up was the 190-pound match, and this was the only match that didn't end on a pin. Ishpeming's Braxton Gardner defeated Munising's Connor Masters on an 11-1 major decision, but those four points (rather than six for a pin) would become important.
Munising's Robert Johns pinned Ishpeming's Leo Dockery at the 215 pound weight class, effectively clinching the match for the Mustangs, with a 30-16 lead.
Ishpeming heavyweight Carlos Perez pinned Munising's Avery Murk at the 51 second mark, and Ishpeming got a forefit win at 106, but the Mustangs won the match, 30-28.
Later in the evening, Munising beat Menominee, and Bark River-Harris beat Ishpeming, 53-0.
