NJCAA Shifts Sports; Norse Basketball In January

The National Junior College Athletic Association on Monday approved a plan that will shift fall sports like football to the spring, and delay the start of winter sports seasons until January.   • No Fall Sports For UW-Oshkosh, Stevens Point
    The Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) has announced updates to the fall sports season. Conference seasons and championships in the sports of football, women’s soccer, women’s volleyball and men’s and women’s cross country are to be canceled for the 2020-21 academic year. Institutions will retain the autonomy to establish practice opportunities within the limitations stipulated by the NCAA throughout the 2020-21 academic year. This impacts UW-Oshkosh and UW-Stevens Point in our region.
  • No Fall Sports For St. Norbert College, Lawrence U.
    The Midwest Conference announced Monday that it will suspend league competition through December 31. The presidents of the ten member institutions made the decision in coordination with representative athletic directors in order to protect the health and safety of student-athletes, coaches, staff and administration, their families, and broader campus and local communities. The Midwest Conference joins a growing number of NCAA Division III schools that have suspended fall and  winter sports. This impacts St. Norbert College and Lawrence University in northern Wisconsin.
  • Finlandia University Signs Louisiana Volleyball Player

    Terhyn Barlow (DeQuincy, La.) has committed to play for the Finlandia University volleyball team. Barlow had a solid career at DeQuincy High School.  A four-year player, she was team captain for two years and was a three-time All-District selection.  Barlow is a member of the National Beta Club and National Honor Society. Barlow joins Joslyn Perala (Lake Linden, Mich.) and Lilian Stenberg (Harris, Mich.) in the recruiting class.
