Bay College Women's Hoops Coach Drake Resigns

Rae Drake has resigned as the Head Women's Basketball Coach at Bay College effective immediately. Drake has accepted an assistant coaching position with the Michigan Tech Men's Basketball Team. Click the above headline for details.
New Bay Norse Softball Program Signs Ten Athletes

The Bay College women's softball program has added ten women to play for the first-ever Norse team next spring. Three Escanaba High School graduates have signed National Letters of Intent to play softball at Bay College. Emily Bruntjens, Emily LaFave, and Aubree Saunders all signed to play next year on the first-ever Norse softball team. They join current Escanaba senior Maddy Griffin as players for Norse Coach Heidi Charon, who is an Escanaba grad.

  • Bark River Bucs Sweep DH From Negaunee
    The Bark River Bucs won both games of a doubleheader Tuesday night against Negaunee. Matt ERicher complete game one-hitter and Duner Englund had a three-run home run. He had three hits in all, and Richer had his first ever homer with a two-run shot. Logan Heim added three hits as the Bucs won, 11-0. Bark River won the nightcap, 6-4, as Adam Cappaert earned the win, giving up one earned run. Heim closed it out for the save, and he added two hits at the plate. Kadin Mustafa and Cole Ray also had a pair of hits.
  • Gladstone Junior Indians Rally Past Escanaba
    The Escanaba Junior Cubs jumped to a 6-0 lead in the first inning, but couldn't hang on, losing to the Gladstone Junior Indians, 8-7, Monday night in Gladstone. Trevor Hansen had a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning to earn the walk-off win. Riley Baldovski slugged a three-run homer to start the five-run seventh inning rally for Gladstone.
  • NMU Hires New Assistant Soccer Coach

    Northern Michigan University has announced the addition of Jon Sandoval as an assistant coach for the Men's Soccer program. Sandoval will aid head coach David Poggi in all aspects of the Men's Soccer program. "I am very excited to welcome Jon to our program," Poggi said of the hire. "His successful playing and coaching experience at the NCAA Division I level will be a valuable asset to our program." Sandoval joins the Wildcats for the 2018 seasons after spending the past two years as an assistant for the men's program at St. Ambrose University.

  • Bay College Holding Basketball Camps
    The Men's and Women's Norse Basketball Teams will be hosting a skills camp for boys and girls entering grades 3-8 on July 30th through August 1st. Men's Head Coach Matt Johnson and Women's Head Coach Rae Drake and members of both teams will be on hand to lead the camp.  The event will be hosted in the Bay College Gymnasium and will divide the campers in to age groups for their sessions.  Grade 3-5 will meet from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM and grades 6-8 will follow that from 10:30 to noon.  The cost is just $40 for non YMCA Members, or $35 for YMCA members.
