Indians, Blues Get Wet In Regular Season Finale
 GLADSTONE---The regular season will last another couple of days for the Gladstone Indians and the Marquette Blues. The two teams hooked up in the season finale Tuesday night in Gladstone, but with the Indians leading, 1-0, in the bottom of the fourth inning, the rains came and flooded the field. So, the two teams will pick up where they left off Thursday night at 6:30.

Whoever finishes second in the standings gets a bye in this weekend's conference tournament in Channing. The third place team has to play an extra game. Gladstone took a 1-0 lead in the second inning when Jake Peterson drew a two-out walk after fouling off numerous pitches. James Capodilupo followed with a single, and then Lucas LaCosse came through with a base hit to put the Indians in front. Gladstone pitcher Justin Jurek was strong, allowing just three hits (two of them infield hits) in four innings of work. He also fielded his position well, getting the first two outs himself on first inning grounders, and starting a 1-6-3 double play in the fourth. Marquette pitcher Riley Lynch had trouble in the bottom of the fourth inning as the rains started to come down. He walked Peterson and Capodilupo, and then hit LaCosse with a pitch to load the bases. That's when the game was delayed, and then suspended. Earlier on Tuesday, Gladstone whipped the Mid County Mavericks, 11-0, in five innings. The Indians scored nine runs in the third inning, led by a nine-run outburst in the third inning. Jake Pearson ripped a three-run, opposite-field home run to right field. 
Justin Jurek threw four good innings.
Offensively, Cody Frazer had a pair of two-run doubles. Jurek had two hits, and Owen Hanson had two hits, including a two-run single. LaCosse and Hayden Hardwick each got hit by pitches twice during the game. Gladstone is now 19-13-1 on the season. Marquette is 27-14 overall.
