  • NMU Women's Soccer Team Gets Tie Downstate
    The NMU Wildcats women's soccer team closed out its downstate trip with a 1-1 tie against Northwood on Saturday. Northwood took an early lead with a goal but the Cats refused to give up. Despite several near misses in the first half, the Cats finally equalized in the 84th minute with a decisive goal from Justina L'Esperance, ensuring the game ended in a hard-fought 1-1 tie. The Wildcats now move to 2-1-1 overall and now have its sights set on the first home matchup of the season next weekend, where the Green and Gold welcomes Grand Valley State and Davenport.
  • NMU Men's Soccer Whips Thomas More College
    The Northern Michigan University men's soccer team is off to its best start in program history, aided by two goals from Alessandro Scialanga and a complete team effort from start to finish in a 3-0 win Saturday over Thomas More University (Kentucky). Scialanga scored his first and second career goals. "This all started two days ago when we were down 2-0 to Lewis and then we fought our way back," says Alessandro. " We didn't get the result we wanted, so we came together after the game to share ideas on how we can improve, and that's what you saw today." NMU is now 3-1 on the season
