Bay Women Coast Past NCMC Timberwolves, 95-45
![]() PETOSKEY---The Bay College Norse women's basketball team coasted to a 95-45 win over the North Central Michigan College Timberwolves Wednesday night in Petoskey as the second half of the MCCAA conference season got under way.
The Timberwolves hung close for the first part of the first quarter, trailing just 11-10 at the first media time out, before the Norse scored 22 straight points to put the game away.
Kennedy Sproule led the Norse in scoring with 29 points, sinking four triples and making 12 of her 24 shot attempts. She also had six rebounds and blocked four shots.
Anna Axtell had another productive game, scoring 27 points, despite making only one three-pointer. She also added eight rebounds, five assists, and had nine steals on defense.
Makenna Hendrickson chipped in 17 points and McKenzie Hoffmeyer added ten points as the Norse improved to 13-9 overall, 6-2 in conference play.
They kept pace with first place Mid Michigan and second place Muskegon, as both of those teams also won Wednesday night.
NCMC fell to 3-19 overall, 2-6 in conference play. The Timberwolves were led by Maziah Shelton's 21 points. Camille Wardin added ten points.
Bay College is back home on Saturday, taking on the Montcalm Community College Centurions. Game time is 1:00 and it will be broadcast live on Maverick 106.3 FM. |
