Balanced Scoring Helps Braves Turn Back Flivvers
 GLADSTONE---The Gladstone High School girls basketball team had balanced scoring Tuesday night and beat the Kingsford Flivvers, 59-51, in a Great Northern Conference game. Anna Carabella had 13 points while Lexi Hongisto and Bridget Becker each added ten as the Braves stopped a two-game losing streak. Gladstone led from start to finish, taking a 16-12 lead after one quarter and then holding Kingsford to seven points in the second quarter. The Braves led, 27-19, at the half. The Braves outscored the Flivvers, 17-11, in the third quarter to open up a 14-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. Kingsford managed to cut the Gladstone lead to five points with less than three minutes left, but the Braves held on. Anna Wulf had nine points and Tinner Sharon added eight (all in the third quarter). Gladstone made 12 of 21 from the free throw line, while Kingsford made 8-of-12. Kingsford (2-3 overall, 0-1 Great Northern Conference) got 13 points from Maria Wiltzius and twelve points from Amber Larson. Gladstone improved to 3-2 overall, 1-1 GNC.
