Eskymo Tennis Team Tops Braves In Rivalry Match

GLADSTONE---The Escanaba Eskymos again relied on their strength in doubles to win another dual match on Monday.

Escanaba swept all doubles flights and Codi Jenshak picked up another win at #1 singles to lead the Eskymos to a 5-3 win over the Gladstone Braves.

Escanaba improved to 3-2-1 in dual matches while Gladstone has played just twice, losing both of them. The result came after the Eskymos took third place in the Kingsford Invitational over the weekend. The Escanaba highlight was Jenshak beating Kingsford's Sam Fleming in the championship round, 5-7, 6-3, 10-7.

Gladstone dropped out of the Kingsford Invitational.

In Tuesday's matches, the Escanaba Eskymos played to a 4-4 tie with the Kingsford Flivvers. And the Gladstone Braves picked up a Great Northern Conference victory in Menominee, 6-2. Details on the matches were not reported.

Escanaba hosts West Iron County Wednesday. Gladstone is idle Wednesday.
