
After the Eskymos had tied the match with a 25-22 win in the second set, the Maroons cruised to 25-11 and 25-12 wins to take the match.
Menominee, which also won the opening set, 25-17, swept the Great Northern Conference season series from the Eskymos.
The teams could meet again in the district championship match on the first night of November.
The Maroons will open district tournament play on the road at Kingsford, while the Eskymos will open the post-season at Gladstone.
MARQUETTE 3, GLADSTONE 2---In another Great Northern Conference match Tuesday night inMarquette, the Marquette Redettes and Gladstone Braves had a back-and-forth battle all night. The first set needed overtime before Marquette won it, 27-25.
The Braves rallied to win the next two games, 25-23 and 25-18, to put the Redettes on the ropes. But Marquette rallied to tie the match with a 25-13 win in Game #4. In the deciding game, the Redettes managed to pull it out, 15-11.
Gladstone's Grace Zimmerman led the way with 23 digs, while Summer Demeuse had 16 digs and Callie Jensen had 15.
