Brody Sanville scored four touchdowns to lead the Gladstone High School football team to a 42-22 win over the Lake Linden-Hubbell Lakes under cold, wet conditions Saturday in the Copper Country. The Gladstone High School football team lost another close game Friday night, falling to the Marquette Redmen, 21-14, in Marquette. The Redmen led, 14-0, before the Braves tied the game on a 62-yard Jared Crow-to-Vince Hughes touchdown pass and a 25-yard touchdown run by Brody Sanville. Marquette, however, got four interceptions on defense and scored the winning touchdown on a six-yard run by Brady Wright with 1:49 left.

The Westwood Patriots slipped past the West Iron County Wykons, 20-19, to win the MHSAA Upper Peninsula Division Two championship on Thursday. The Negaunee Miners repeated as MHSAA Division One Upper Peninsula tennis champions on Thursday, edging Marquette, 15-13, at Kingsford High School. Menominee took third with nine points, followed by Kingsford (8), Gladstone (6), and Escanaba (5). The Miners won two flights and were runners-up in four others. Gladstone won the #1 doubles title, with Taylor Trudeau and Sydney Herioux winning a three-set thriller in the final.
