Gladstone Golfers Win Menominee Invitational
MENOMINEE---The Gladstone High School boys golf team cruised to the championship of the Menominee Invitational Monday afternoon at the Riverside Golf Course.Bryce Douglas was the top Gladstone golfer, shooting a 76, finishing third overall behind medalist Hunter Eichhorn of Carney-Nadeau and Dakota Langlois of Marinette. Eichhorn scorched the course by shooting a six-under par. 66. Langlois finished with a 74. Escanaba freshman Trevor Denome took fourth place with a 79, while Marinette's Mike Wagner and Menominee's Evan Kramer finished tied for fith with 80's. Gladstone's Rudy Peterson and Kyle Darmogray shot 82's, and Escanaba's Nathan Rousseau shot an 83. Gladstone's Jordan Ahlgren and Jared Ness both finished with 83's. On the team scores, Gladstone was first with 323. Marinette was five strokes back with 328, and Escanaba was third with 341 strokes. Marquette was fourth (370), Carney-Nadeau fifth (380), Stephenson sixth (391), and Menominee finished seventh (417). GIRLS RESULTS---There were only two girls teams with full squads as Monday's events, and a total of 17 girls particpated. Escanaba's Paxton Johnson was the medalist with an 85, five strokes ahead of Marquette's Ellie Hicks (90). Escanaba's Megan Dagenais was third with a 96, and Menominee's Emma Hofer (97) was fourth. Menominee won the event with 424 strokes. Gladstone was second with 512 strokes. |
