Sportswriters Name All-U.P. Boys Basketball Teams

The Upper Peninsula Sportwriters and Sportscasters Association announced its 2021-22 high school boys basketball All-U.P. teams Friday night. The group of media members from across the Upper Peninsula met in Marquette earlier this week to make their selections.

Jaden Borseth from Ewen-Trout Creek High School was named the top player in the Upper Peninsula, as Mr. U.P. Basketball. He led the Panthers to the Division Four state champonsghip game before an overtime loss to Wyoming Tri-Unity Christian.

Menominee's Aidan Bellisle was named the Division 1-3 Player of the Year, after leading the Maroons to the Division Three state championship game before losing to Schoolcraft.

Menominee's Sam Larson and ETC's Brad Besonen were named Coaches of the Year.

The Escanaba Eskymos were named the Division 1-2 Team of the Year, with Menominee and ETC getting those honors in D-3 and D-4, respectively.

The rest of the Dream Team, besides Borseth and Bellisle, included Escanaba's Colin Hudson, Westwood's Zach Carlson, and Johnny Schutz from Paineadale-Jeffers.

All of the winners are posted below:
