Gladstone Braves Win St. Ignace Wrestling Tourney
ST. IGNACE---The Gladstone High School wrestling team opened the 2013-14 season with an impressive showing at the multi-team St. Ignace Invitational on Saturday. The Braves took the tournament championship as eight wrestlers won first place medals. Three other Gladstone boys finished in the top four in their weight classes to also earn medals. Rogers City finished second in the team score. The Braves' individual champions ranged from the smallest guy (James Bruce) to the biggest guy (Tommy Bailey). Gladstone will be in Marquette for a quad meet next Thursday (Dec. 12). The Braves will visit Escanaba on Thursday (Dec. 19). That match will be broadcast live on WCHT-AM (600), and on-line at www.rrnsports.com. |
