Gladstone Sweeps Another Baseball Doubleheader
GLADSTONE---The Gladstone High School baseball team swept both ends of a doubleheader from the Kingsford Flivvers, 11-2 and 12-2, Tuesday at Don Olsen Field. In the opener, Brandon Cooper pitched all seven innings to earn the victories. He scattered seven hits, struck out three, and walked two. Offensively, the Braves gor two hits apiece from Ben Schwalbach, Owen Hanson, and Carson Shea. One of Hanson's hits was a two-run double in the third inning. In the second game, Ben Kelly made his varsity pitching debut. He threw four innings, allowing six hits and two walks. A.J. Lundberg pitched a 1-2-3 fifth inning. At the plate, Jack Stephenson, Braeden Lamberg, Tyson Seymour, Dan Martin, and Hanson all had two hits apiece. The Braves had 12 hits altogether in that second game. Gladstone improved to 17-4 on the season with the sweep. The Braves will play in Escanaba Thursday night at 5:00, and will host Sault Ste. Marie in a doubleheader on Friday at 4:30.
