Day Of Rest: Esky Jr. Girls Do Some Sight-Seeing
KIRKLAND, Wash.---The Escanaba Junior Girls enjoyed a day off from the Little League World Series on Tuesday by doing some sight-seeing in the Seattle, Washington area.
The girls also took part in some fun events in the evening, and will be back on the field Wednesday. Escanaba will face the Canadian national champions from Victoria, B.C.
The Canadians have not played since Sunday, when they dropped a 5-3 decision to the host team. Escanaba lost its opener to Honaker, Va., 5-0, on Monday.
There were three games played on Tuesday while the girls were spending time being tourists. The Virginia team that beat Escanaba lost to the host Kirkland team, 3-1.
In the other pool, Anchorage Alaska topped West Haven, Conn., 8-5....and Puerto Rico slipped past Eagle Pass, Texas, 7-4.
Escanaba takes on Victoria, B.C., on Wednesday at 7:45 p.m. ET. The broadcast on WGKL-FM (105.5) and on-line at www.rrnsports.com starts at 7:15 p.m. ET.
